How Will I Know? Choosing the Right Wedding Dress!
A wedding dress will be one of the most emotionally driven purchase you will ever make. We are asked all the time by our brides, “how will I know it’s the one?” For most brides, there won’t be a doubt in your mind. We like to tell our brides to think about their fiancés. We are sure that there is a moment that you can look back on when you looked at your fiancé and thought to yourself for the first time, “this is the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with.” And in that moment, you had a lot of emotions. Happiness, excitement, and maybe a little fear. But in the midst of it all, you felt certain. This is how you will feel when you put on the right dress. It will be the dress that overwhelms you with emotions; happiness, excitement and maybe even fear. But when you close your eyes, you can envision yourself walking down the aisle to your fiancé in that dress.
The Dress Journey
For some brides, it is more of a logical decision. It is important to remember that every brides journey is different. So, do not feel like you have to have an all-out “Say Yes to The Dress’ moment”. We have had brides turn and look at us before and say, “Okay, I like it. Let’s order it.” And that’s it! Not every bride will have the same moment. Everyone processes things differently and there is nothing wrong with that. You are going to try on a lot of gorgeous dresses that you do not necessarily dislike. You just don’t see yourself walking down the aisle in that specific dress. We call those “really pretty no’s”. If you can instantly see yourself putting it on for your wedding day and it brings you the same joy that your fiancé has, it’s the one. It makes you feel happy, beautiful and confident.
Saying Yes
A lot of brides say “yes” with us even when it’s their first time trying on gowns. So, it is very common and something that you should expect to happen. On average, most brides have found their dress in the first five to six gowns they try on. Again, this is an emotional decision, so don’t overthink it. If you have found a gown that you love, then go for it! You aren’t going to be walking through Target or the grocery store and be tempted by wedding dresses. You must seek them out. Don’t over complicate things, just go with your gut. Your wedding dress will set the tone for so many other things in your wedding. It will help determine how to coordinate all of the other details. Because after all, you have so many other things to start planning!
